April 30 -- Some nice Bluefish up to 8lbs being caught right now off of Long point. They're hitting fresh bunker and small metals. A few bass being caught in the surf around the Brant beach area, fresh bunker and clams have been working best. Also today is the last day of Black fish (Tautog) season til July, so stop in and grab some green crabs and clams and catch a few for the freezer. Beautiful morning so far...west winds 5-10knts. April 29 -- Still bluefish around the bridges & West Creek Dock road being caught by bank fishermen. Surf casters also picking some blues on bunker & mackerel. A decent striper bite in Marshelder Channel behind Story Island on clam. Nothing big, but some keepers along with small blues. Dick McAuliffe & his son Randy got some bunker & mackerel this morning and just reported in that they had a ball with bluefish under the Causeway ... biggest was 32 inches. (10:45 at)

April 26 -- BLUEFISH everywhere... mixed in the surf with some bass, the bays, very good around the Causeway at the moment. West Creek Dock road has had its share and all ranging from one to ten pounds. Boats out of Barnegat Inlet over the weekend trolled up a few bass out in fifty feet of water mostly on white bunker spoons. Shad body umbrellas also did well. Perch fishing back in Beach Haven West still decent and people in the lagoons are starting to catch a few keeper blue claws. (07:15 at) Paul Presto reporting in from the Ship Bottom surf with a twenty-eight inch striper on clam. He said the bite turning on three hours after the high tide. April 23 -- Bluefish from Barnegat to Beach Haven in the bay ... from 1 to 8 pounds. Some big blues in Beach Haven inlet this morning. Couple stripers caught on clams & artificials by the Causeway bridges. Winter flounder ? Don't know anyone fishing for them at the moment. (14:00 at)

April 21-- Bluefish are being caught in the surf from Seaside all the way to Holgate, they've been anywhere from 5lbs all the way to 16lbs! They've been biting best on fresh bunker chunks and also have been taking some plugs and metals. A few keeper stripers have been mixed in as well, also hitting on the fresh bunker chunks and surf clams. (07:47 pb)

April 19 -- For all the non-believers that don't think there are any fish in the bay, please check out on my LINKS, Steve Purul's website (Reel Fantasea Charters). Another great weekend for his parties. This spring is not the one to procrastinate ... things are happening earlier than last year. Boats are made to float, not sit on cinder blocks. The Barnegat Light fleet found small blackfish & cod on wrecks in 80ft. (07:00 at)

April 18 -- Light NW wind, but is suppose to blow up later. The big boats - Searcher II, Doris Mae, Carolyn Ann III in Barnegat Light & Miss Beach Haven in Beach Haven - are all blackfishing today. Bite was a little slow yesterday with a few cod. Kapt. Krankie is back on the Ship Bottom surf so we should have some beach reports soon. Fresh bunker & surf clams in stock. April 17 -- Report of bluefish & stripers on the Ship Bottom surf this morning. Kapt. Krankie over there right now. Watched a 29 incher released & bluefish caught on bunker. Surf is beautiful, light wind on your back. NO EXCUSES ... get out there. (07:45 at)

April 16 -- 6 - 7 lb bluefish are being caught right now in the surf in Brant Beach, theyre biting on fresh bunker chunks and some metals. (08:04 pb) Just got a report of small stripers and bluefish up to 6lbs being caught on the back side of Holgate in the bay (10:32 pb)

April 15 -- Surf has cooled down somewhat. A few skates moved in and have been eating most of the clams that have been launched into the ocean. The Causeway bridges have heated up a bit. Both night time & early morning have been producing some stripers on both bait (bloods & clams) and artificials. Also, a hand full of people that have thrown crab pots in are reporting a few blue claws along with some rock crabs being caught. (05:00 at)

April 11 -- Good Sunday morning, light SW wind & sunny skies. The LBI surf had some stripers yesterday, most on clam. Jake Nelke weighed in his first striper ever, a 23 pound / 37 incher, fishing Graveling Point with his dad. Bass was caught on bloodworm. Also heard a report of some bluefish in the bay in the Beach Haven area. (09:45 at)

April 9 -- A soggy start today, light rain & wind out of the NW at 5. Suppose to blow 15 to 20 later today & tonight. Some stripers were caught off the Beach Haven surf yesterday on clam. If you are looking for some good action, "Searcher II" & "Carolyn Ann III" out of Barnegat Light are sailing over the weekend for blackfish & cod. Also Capt. Eddie Yates of "Hunter" is striper fishing in Cape May & reported limit catches all week. (06:45 at)

April 8 -- Another warm April morning with a bit more wind out of the SW this morning. Bay temp at the Causeway is 59 & ocean temp still 46. Not a lot chewing yesterday. Know of two keeper bass taken at West Creek Dock Road, one on bloodworm & one on clam. Surf had a couple fish but not as good as two days ago. April 7 -- Nice morning, SW winds at 5 ... water temp at Causeway Bridge this morning 58 & ocean water temp at 46. Action at West Creek Dock Road still very consistent with small stripers, perch and winter flounder. Graveling Point also picking a few bass & perch. Very few people winter flounder fishing and those who are, are having no problem catching their limit. White perch fishing back in Beach Haven West has been good. Best time has been at dusk, but every now & then they chew during the day. Blackfishing has been decent, especially on the Atlantic City reef site. Also some small cod being caught 5-6 miles out of Barnegat Light on open bottom. Fresh clams & green crabs working well. (08:00 at)
